Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a COMPE code and an ISPB?
COMPE is the 3-digit code most people know (001 Banco do Brasil, 341 Itaú). ISPB is the 8-digit identifier the Banco Central uses; newer institutions sometimes have only an ISPB.
Do I need this for Pix?
Not if you pay to a Pix key. For a Pix or TED transfer by account details you need the bank code, agency and account.
