Frequently asked questions
Is a SWIFT code the same as a BIC?
Yes. BIC (Business Identifier Code) is the ISO 9362 name; SWIFT code is what most people call it.
Should I use the 8 or 11 character version?
Both identify the bank. The 8-character code means the head office; 11 characters adds a branch. Use what the recipient’s bank gives you.
Do I need a SWIFT code for a SEPA transfer?
No. Within SEPA the IBAN is enough; the BIC is only needed for international (SWIFT) transfers.
Check bank details from your own app
The same validation is in the FluxRail API — for every country, in one call — and runs automatically on every payout you send.
