Frequently asked questions
What is a CLABE?
The standardized 18-digit bank account number used for SPEI transfers in Mexico. It encodes the bank, the city and the account, with a check digit at the end.
How is the check digit calculated?
Each of the first 17 digits is multiplied by 3, 7, 1, 3, 7, 1 …, only the last digit of each product is kept, and the check digit makes the total a multiple of 10.

The same validation is in the FluxRail API — for every country, in one call — and runs automatically on every payout you send.
